Relaxation can be tremendously beneficial emotionally, physically and mentally. We experience the stress response throughout our day. It can be mild or extreme; it can be productive or a hindrance; it can be acute or chronic. Stress is natural and cannot be avoided, and at times it can help us to prepare for some demand or action needed. However, even when needed, it is harmful to us in some way. Even if stress cannot be avoided, learning a relaxation technique can help alleviate stress and prevent some of the damage done by the effects of stress.
